Yes the fescue rough is healthy and yes the fescue rough is tall. Typically, we have been maintaining the fescue at 2 inches, but with recent storms every week the fescue has grown faster than we can mow it. Plant growth regulator chemicals have been applied and will give us the edge to catch back up. Also we are looking into other types of mowers that will increase production and efficiency. With a recent demoed mower, we were able to see the fescue rough could be mowed in 1 to 2 days, whereas today with our current mower, that is no longer in production, takes 4 to 5 days to mow all the fescue. With a new mower we would be able to dedicate those valuable man hours to other areas of the golf course and be more efficient.
