Now that greens aerification is out of the way we will begin topdressing the collars next week. The collars have not been topdressed due to lack of leaf tissue in the bermuda. Now the nights are in the 60’s plus and high temperature days the 419 Bermuda has actively started growing to the point were the leaf tissue can grow through the topdressing sand and smooth out. If the collars were topdressed prior to actively growing, the plant would not have been able to grow through the sand and continue to recover.
