Just an update, but the course did take a lot of damage from the storm or tornado last night. At first glance we have lost about 30 trees, but luckily they are in out of play areas. The entrance road took the hardest hit losing about 12 cedar trees. The winds and damage was concentrated on holes 3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9. The golf course staff and David Tucker, Assistant Golf Professional, have removed most of the trees and debris to piles in out of play areas. Tomorrow we will attempt to clean the greens and bunkers for play and out source the larger clean up to our tree company. I will say the Better Billy Bunkers stood strong with no wash outs of sand and just need the debris blown out and raked. We will keep you updated on the course’s status and call in the proshop tomorrow for an update on the course being open.
